198 Heterogeneity in cutaneous infection prevalence and frequency by timing of atopic dermatitis onset

چکیده
Cutaneous infections are common in atopic dermatitis (AD) due to impaired skin barrier and immunologic dysfunction. Early- late-onset pediatric AD distinct phenotypes that vary disease persistence risk of other comorbidities. However, whether infection varies by the timing onset is unknown. Using population-based, electronic medical records data from UK, we examined a cohort children enrolled within first year life who had diagnosis before age 18. Among 154,022, 30,970, 4,788 with early- (≤ 2 years old), mid- (3-7 (8-17 old) AD, those were 20-25% less likely have molluscum (OR 0.74, 95% CI 0.68-0.80), varicella/herpes zoster (0.75, 0.70-0.79), impetigo (0.78, 0.72-0.83) herpes simplex virus (0.81, 0.69-0.96), after adjusting for age, sex, duration follow-up, atopy. They also 10% lower odds cellulitis 0.90, 0.83-0.97) warts (0.91, 0.85-0.97). Mid-onset exhibited similar slightly greater compared early-onset AD. when examining frequency infectious episodes among at least 1 episode any given (cellulitis, virus, impetigo, molluscum, tinea, zoster, or warts), did not differ was associated (adjusted IRR 0.88, 0.81-0.95) (0.92, 0.86-0.98) Taken together, our findings suggest while inversely related overall several cutaneous infections, has impact on one’s susceptibility repeated infection. Further work thus needed understand heterogeneity distinguish complicated infections.

متن کاملEvaluation of the Frequency of Food Allergens by Skin Prick Test in Children with Atopic Dermatitis
Background: The role of food allergy in atopic dermatitis (AD) is controversial. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of food allergens in children with AD. Method: Fifty one atopic dermatitis children aged 6 months to 5 years entered our study. The severity of AD was determined by scoring index of AD (SCORAD). Skin prick test (SPT) was done using 15 allergens including the whit...
